The Photography of Sylwia Makris

Sylwia Makris is a Polish-born photographer whose beautiful work combines an otherworldly quality with a quest for the expression of “what is waiting painfully beneath the surface.” In her series In Search of the Divine and Diadema (images from which are above), she collaborates with avant-garde fashion designer Katarzyna Konieczka to produce haunting, emotive, and sartorially fascinating imagery.
