Gilding Primal Instinct‘s beautiful F/W 2012 collection The Executioner features blades, gauzy veil-like textures, and alluringly alien metallic masks and headpieces These pieces perfectly embody the mission to “create an aggressive dichotomy between subtle, elegant forms and vicious primal instinct [and] translate practices of ritual adornment into iconic character archetypes.”
This stunningly beautiful, structural collection, entitled The Unreal Reality, was designed by Laura Mulder as her graduation project at the Art Academy of Utrecht in 2011. Modeled by Thiska van den Heuvel and Lara Aimee, photographed by Cor and Leonie Baauw of Local Androids, with hair styling by Jenny Kroese.
Artist Charmaine Olivia‘s gorgeous outfit at the opening of her show, Ritual, on January 14th, is an awesome real-life example of a simple but effective look. The black, full-length dress with cutouts in back is from Paprika via ASOS; the look is accented with sterling silver jewelry, including the “Seance” bracelet cuff from Blood Milk, and sets off her tattoos beautifully.
