  • Naomi Campbell/Alex Kovas by Mert & Marcus for Interview Magazine

    11.18.10

These are from an editorial in the October 2010 issue of Interview Magazine featuring Naomi Campbell and a sadism/domination/torture theme. I love the contrast of the man’s pallid flesh and tattoos. The male model is Alex Kovas.

  • “Before the Tide Comes In” by Zhang Jingna

    10.08.10

I’ve just seen a fashion editorial featuring Mother of London clothing and photographed by Zhang Jingna over on Twisted Lamb which is incredible. Titled Before the Tide Comes In, Fashion Gone Rogue describes the concept as “a dark maiden of the sea.”

  • Viviane Orth by Fabio Bartelt: the ’20s Restyled

    05.12.10

I love this ’20s-inspired shoot for Elle Brazil. It’s so fun, and not nearly as harsh/alien-looking as the vibe most fashion editorials give off. I also love that it takes place outside, among these sort of stunted, yellow grasses.

  • “Metropolis”-Inspired Fashion Editorial

    01.12.10

I love the 1928 silent science fiction/German Expressionist film Metropolis. Check out this Metropolis-themed shoot from Vogue Germany that was posted over on Haute Macabre:
