  • Emilie in Her Wheelchair

    09.06.10

This is one of my favorite live pictures of EA.

from her “Erotic Medical Burlesque” show at KinKats, Munich, March 2009

    Isn’t she divine?

    Awesome wheelchair, too.

  • BioShock Infinite

    08.12.10

This is the debut trailer for the third installment in the BioShock series, which has an American exceptionalism theme and takes place in another alternative-history, this time airborne city called “Columbia” in 1912:

(My favorite part starts around 1:45, with the floating roses.)

BioShock Infinite will be released sometime in 2012.

    I’m very excited!

  • Maya Hansen’s “Steampunk: Lost in Prague” Corsetry Collection

    02.26.10

Since I fell in love with Maya Hansen‘s uber-colorful and tasty Cake Corset collection, she has come out with a new collection for autumn/winter 2010 inspired by steampunk.

    See the complete collection here.

And here’s a behind-the-scenes video clip from the Cake Corsets shoot with Ulorin Vex:

  • Christian Dior Spring 2010 Steampunk-Inspired Collection

    01.27.10

Awesome Dior runway collection with plenty of steampunk/neo-Victorian influences. The second half of the collection seems to be inspired by Marie Antoinette/18th-century France, Old Hollywood, and formal wear in general. Here are a few of my favorite images from the runway show:

    See the whole collection here.

  • Fashion Designer: Mother of London

    01.15.10

Mother of London is an innovative alternative couturier that makes beautiful, inspired creations in rough vs. delicate textures: black leather, gauzy, tattered layers, elaborate lace, hardware and corset lacing. Their aesthetic is simultaneously rugged and delicate, futuristic and Victorian, with lots of asymmetry and contrasts. Check out some of their work below:

  • Spats from Ashes and Empires

    11.22.09

Pretty spats from Ashes and Empires:

Also, I really wish I could go to this, but I’m never in NYC around the time of Dances of Vice!
